Travel Assistant
Tim Horton Children’s Foundation
St. George, Ontario
*Contract Position: May 3rd – August 28th, 2010*
Reporting to the Registration & Travel Manager, the Travel Assistant, supports, and implements the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation’s Camper Travel Program. The Travel Assistant works closely with the Travel Coordinator and the YLP Registrar to organize and coordinate ground transportation and communicates arrangements to campers, Store Owners, and THCF staff.
Qualifications:
• College or University student or graduate in a related field of study.
• Strong administrative and organization skills.
• Strong written and oral communications skills.
• Knowledge of the camping and outdoor environmental education field is an asset.
• Knowledge of travel industry is an asset.
• Experience with the Access, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Email and Internet.
• Bilingualism-French/English/Spanish – oral and written, is an asset.
• Ability to accommodate varied hours according to camper travel days. Will require
some evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
• Works with ground transportation partners to schedule and book camper and escort
travel.
• Is available and knowledgeable to answer camper, parent/guardian, THCF staff, and
store owner questions relating to travel arrangements.
• Communicates with the Registration and Travel Team on a daily basis, updating
camper information and travel arrangements, cancellations, and additions.
• Updates travel schedules as required and communicates changes to necessary
contacts.
• Assists with bus route development and follows up with any necessary changes
throughout the summer.
• Assists with organizing, compiling and mailing camper travel packages.
