Description
The incumbent reports directly to the Commercial Insurance Manager and is accountable for underwriting moderate to complex accounts within his area of expertise (Farms) in accordance with the Group’s underwriting guidelines and his level of underwriting authority as assigned. The use of a well-developed underwriting judgement will contribute to a growing and profitable portfolio of farm accounts within the branch, while maintaining expenses within corporate guidelines.
Specific accountabilities:
Based on underwriting authority limits and service time:
• Answer requests and advise brokers.
• Properly analyze and rate risks.
• Execute phoned and written contract changes requests.
• Review and, if needed, change policies entered by brokers.
• Analyze reports and renewals and take action, if needed.
• Execute claims review requests and take appropriate action, including developing important loss reports, performing follow ups and suggesting improvements, if needed.
• Review inspection reports and take action, if needed.
• Contribute to product, services and computer system applications as well as work processes and procedures enhancements, through suggestions.
• All other tasks related to meeting the department’s and business’ objectives.

Qualifications:
• 3 to 5 years experience in Farm underwriting.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma of Collegial Studies, or CIP title on the way.
• Bilingual, spoken and written (French and English).
• Proficient in Window environnement and Word and Excel applications. |
