Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the District Manager will have strong leadership and organizational skills to manage the overall operations of multiple stores. The primary focus is on meeting or exceeding company established goals for sales, merchandising, payroll, expense control, operations and human resource functions. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills as well as the ability to recruit, train and motivate store management and store associates.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate Store Teams to maximize sales, profits and customer service
- Meet or exceed all District sales and wage cost budgets
- Recruit, train and retain qualified management candidates
- Ensure all stores achieve optimal staffing levels
- Effectively control all related expenses and shrinkage
- Provide Visual presentation training and follow up; ensure timely and effective execution of all visual directives.
- Generate passion, excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment to West 49’s vision and direction
- Communicate and execute all Company initiatives and strategies in an efficient and positive manner
- Participate in District Manager meetings and plan and facilitate Store Manager District Meetings
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years store management experience with a proven track record of success
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of store operations including customer service; productivity management; resource protection; human resources; succession planning and policies and procedures.
- Outgoing, energetic, active relationship builder, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Credible, able to influence others, gain consensus, and deal with conflict situations
- Outstanding organizational and planning skills
- Effective time-management, and change management skills
- Retail sales-driven
- Customer service-oriented
- Ability to travel required
