Plant Operator - Younger Extraction Plant

AltaGas is currently seeking a self-motivated team player to work as a Plant Operator at the Younger Extraction Plant in Taylor, British Columbia. This position is within the Communication, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada Local 686B (CEPU) and covered in the collective agreement.

The Younger Extraction Plant is the only deep cut extraction facility in British Columbia producing ethane, propane, butane, and condensate through the fractionation of sweet dry gas.

Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to the following:
• Day to day operations, including start up and shut down of compressors, pumps and other plant equipment;
• Product quality control;
• Preparing equipment for maintenance personnel.

Qualifications:
• Grade 12 education or equivalent;
• Strong mechanical background;
• Self starter who is capable of working under minimal supervision;
• Team player whose positive ideas, attitudes and workmanship contribute to the overall performance and safety of the plant;
• Solid work ethic and motivation to produce superior results;
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel;
• Preference will be given to those with a fourth class Power Engineering ticket, GPO levels A through D, and three or more years in a heavy industrial setting and/or natural gas liquids or gas processing.
