This hands-on role is an exceptional opportunity for a dependable, self-motivated individual with several years of related work experience. The successful candidate is responsible for the effective functioning and appearance of the physical plant and equipment. Duties include:
- Planning and implementing regular schedules for preventative maintenance activities to ensure the plant and equipment are safe and in good working order;
- Light carpentry tasks, plumbing, electrical repairs, painting, maintenance on equipment, and limited grounds keeping;
- Receiving and storing all non-kitchen related deliveries;
- Participating in decision-making particularly in matters related to staff and resident health and safety.
An understanding of construction and physical plant operations is required. Experience in the recruitment, training, and supervision of staff is an asset. This is a full-time position that may include some evening and weekend shifts. Knowledge of WHMIS, Occupational First Aid Level 1, and a Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate are assets. |
